About Madi

Buying or selling a home should be an exciting milestone. My goal is to make every transaction feel organized, approachable, and well supported by keeping clients informed and ensuring every detail is handled with care.

Originally from Cuba, I’m a lawyer with more than ten years of legal experience in corporate, civil, family, administrative, and labour law. Since making Canada my home, I’ve been proud to bring that legal background to Brooks Business Law, where I serve as Office Manager and Residential Real Estate Paralegal.

In my role, I work closely with our lawyers to coordinate residential real estate transactions from opening to closing, while also helping oversee the internal day-to-day operations of our firm. Whether I’m preparing closing documents, coordinating with lenders and realtors, or helping keep everything running behind the scenes, my focus is always the same: providing an exceptional experience for every client we have the privilege to serve.

For many clients, I’m one of the first people they’ll meet and one of the last people they’ll speak with before their transaction is complete. I enjoy building those relationships and making sure every client feels informed, supported, and confident throughout the process. Buying, selling, or refinancing a home is a significant milestone, and I believe it deserves exceptional communication, careful attention to detail, and a team that genuinely cares about helping clients reach the finish line.

How I Help Clients

I work alongside our lawyers to coordinate residential real estate transactions from beginning to end, helping ensure every purchase, sale, and refinance is completed efficiently and with exceptional attention to detail.

My work regularly includes:

  • Residential purchases and sales
  • Mortgage financing and refinancing
  • Property transfers
  • Title and judgment searches
  • Statements of Adjustments
  • FINTRAC identity verification
  • Trust accounting
  • Registration and closing documents
  • Coordinating with lenders, realtors, municipalities, and opposing counsel
  • Managing residential real estate transactions from opening to closing

One of the parts of my job I enjoy most is solving unexpected issues before closing and working collaboratively with everyone involved to keep each transaction moving smoothly toward a successful closing day.

My Approach

One of the things I appreciate most about Brooks Business Law is our shared commitment to putting people first. We work as a team, support one another, and believe that exceptional client service comes from genuinely caring about the people we have the privilege to help.

I know that buying, selling, or refinancing a home isn’t something most people do every day. That’s why I never expect clients to know all the answers. My role is to make the process feel approachable by being responsive, organized, and happy to explain what’s happening every step of the way.

I want every client to feel informed, confident, and supported from beginning to end. For me, the most rewarding part of my work is seeing everything come together on closing day and knowing I’ve helped make an important milestone a little less stressful.

One of the things I love most about working at Brooks Business Law is that our relationships with clients don’t end when the transaction closes. Whether someone has a question the next day or several years later, I want them to know they can always reach out. If you’re not sure where to start, we’re only a phone call or email away, and we’re always happy to help.

Beyond the Office

Outside of work, I’m first and foremost a proud mom. I enjoy spending time with my daughter and family, exploring Nova Scotia, discovering new coffee shops and local restaurants, listening to music, and baking whenever I have the chance. If there’s a reason to celebrate, there’s a good chance I’ll be bringing dessert.

As a native Spanish speaker, I also enjoy helping Spanish speaking clients feel comfortable throughout their legal transactions by communicating in the language they’re most comfortable using.

And if you happen to bring your dog to the office, I’ll probably be the first person over to say hello.

My Journey

Starting over in a new country while continuing my legal career has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.

Building a new life in Canada, adapting to a different legal system, and continuing to grow professionally has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding. It has reinforced the importance of kindness, patience, and encouragement when someone is navigating unfamiliar territory.

Those are the same qualities I strive to bring to every client and every member of our team.

A Final Thought

My hope is that every client leaves Brooks Business Law feeling they had someone in their corner who genuinely cared about helping them reach the finish line. Helping people through important milestones is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do, and it’s a privilege I never take for granted.
